Han Zheng visits foreign companies on study tour in Pudong

Shanghai Party Secretary Han Zheng urged officials to deepen reforms in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, speed up Shanghai's transformation into a global innovation center, guarantee social stability and strengthen self-discipline. He spoke during a field study in Pudong on Monday.

Han and Deputy Party Secretary Yin Hong visited Carl Zeiss Group's China headquarters and L'Oreal's research and innovation center in China. Carl Zeiss is a German lens and optical device manufacturer while L'Oreal is a French cosmetics company.

In a meeting at the end of their field study, Han said Shanghai assigned many of its reform tasks to Pudong. Officials at various levels should take a creative approach and the role of a pioneer in reforms.

He called for further administrative reform to separate business license from official permit, coordinated development of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, improved government supervision, and good policies to attract talent from around the world.
