Infineon establishes key logistics hub in Pudong Airport FTZ

Semiconductor giant Infineon broke ground on the customized distribution center within the Shanghai Pudong Airport Comprehensive Free Trade Zone on July 29.

Infineon is a globally leading semiconductor company with annual revenue exceeding 15 billion euros (US$17.14 billion). The company has ranked first in the global automotive semiconductor market for five consecutive years and maintained its top position in the global power semiconductor market for 21 straight years.

The Infineon Distribution Center (China) project covers a construction area of 43,000 square meters and is positioned as one of Infineon’s three global logistics hubs. It is currently the company’s largest single-building finished product distribution center worldwide. Upon completion, the center will introduce an intelligent management system to achieve seamless order-to-shipment coordination, providing customers with more efficient, sustainable, and resilient service experiences.

In 2014, Infineon established its first China logistics center in the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Free Trade Zone to centrally manage the transportation and logistics of all inbound and outbound goods produced in China. In December 2022, Infineon set up Infineon Technologies (Shanghai) Co Ltd in the same zone, marking the company’s first establishment of settlement operations in China. The entity has since become one of Infineon’s key sales and settlement units. In 2023, Infineon signed a memorandum of cooperation with Modern Industrial Development (Shanghai Pudong) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of the Waigaoqiao Group, to develop a low-carbon smart logistics warehouse for its China logistics center in the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, providing strong support for the growth of its headquarters operations. To date, Infineon’s total operational space in the zone has expanded nearly 20-fold.
