The 5th Sunland Boundless Life Festival has kicked off at Sunland International Community in Pudong's Waigaoqiao area, starting with a bang – the Kud-Thai night market, co-created with Thailand's The Mall Group.
Held at the Sunland Waterside Camp last weekend, the outdoor Thai-themed market brought Bangkok vibes to Shanghai with colorful streetscapes, spicy street eats, iced milk tea, handcrafted goods, and even traditional Thai massages.
Over 40 vendors from China and Thailand were on site, offering everything from Butterbear merch to Muay Thai shows, lantern-blessing rituals, tropical-style parades, and splashy water games – perfect for cooling off in the summer heat.
The market will continue to run from July 24 to 27.
The full festival is running through China's National Day holiday in October, with live music, sports, and more – including a concert by Chinese indie rockers Young Dan, a pickleball showdown, and the New Boat Cup land rowing challenge.
Not far away, a new commercial complex, Sunland InCity, is under construction, and expected to open in 2026.
