Research hospital expansion in Waigaoqiao to boost precision cancer care

The main structure of the Phase II construction project of Shanghai GoBroad Cancer Hospital, affiliated with China Pharmaceutical University, has topped out.

As the first research-oriented hospital in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, the completion of the main structure not only lays a solid foundation for subsequent specialized medical construction but also marks a breakthrough in the hospital's "one hospital, two campuses" strategic layout. This will significantly enhance precision oncology services in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Located at plot F2-02 in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, the Phase II expansion covers an area of 10,332.10 square meters with a total floor area of 37,989.2 square meters. The nine-story above-ground and two-story underground facility will substantially expand the hospital's medical service capacity.

The second phase will feature internationally advanced intelligent imaging centers and precision radiotherapy platforms, establishing a comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment system. It will provide strategic support for multicenter clinical trials and biopharmaceutical achievement transformation.

Scheduled for full operation in 2026, the hospital will offer 700 beds in total, creating an integrated oncology platform combining "clinical care - scientific innovation - industrial transformation."
