Shanghai FTZ showcases biopharma advantages in Paris

The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone hosted a biopharmaceutical promotion event in Paris on May 12 French time, attracting leading French medical institutions and enterprises to explore Sino-French industry partnerships.

The event brought together key players including Paris regional development authority Choose Paris Region, French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, hospital-medtech platform Xmed IQ, medical imaging specialist ImaOne and medtech exhibition organizer HBI.

Olivier Veran, former French health minister and founder of Innov, highlighted the partnership's foundation in mutual trust, urging joint efforts to address global health challenges.

Zhang Xi, director of the FTZ Bonded Area Administrative Bureau, emphasized China's dual role as the world's second-largest pharmaceutical market and innovation hub in the biopharmaceutical industry. He invited French companies to invest in the bonded area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone to share in the tremendous opportunities of China's development. The zone will leverage its policy advantages, full-chain industrial ecosystem, and internationalized business environment to provide premium services for established enterprises.

Both sides intend to deepen cooperation in technology incubation, information exchange, market access, and financial support, with particular emphasis on facilitating small and medium-sized enterprises' entry into each other's markets.

The successful hosting of this promotion event has created fresh momentum for both the internationalization of the bonded zone's biopharmaceutical industry and Sino-French corporate collaboration in this sector.
