The 2024 National Cricket Championship recently kicked off at Sunland Boundless Park in Pudong.
Over the two weeks, 26 cricket teams, both men and women, from across the country will compete fiercely here.
This national championship is the first to be held since cricket was reintroduced into the Olympic family after a century, marking the beginning of China's preparation for the next Olympic Games in the cricket events.
The opening ceremony also witnessed the signing of several important cooperation agreements.
Deputy Director Wang Yun of the Multi-Ball Games Administrative Center of the State General Administration of Sport represented the center in signing a memorandum of understanding with Burji Shroff, chairman of the Hong Kong Cricket Association. The parties will engage in comprehensive cooperation in various areas, including international and domestic cricket competitions, exchanges and visits between sports teams, professional talent development and jointly promoting the establishment of an East Asian cricket development mechanism.
Feng Shenhong, president of the Shanghai Cricket Association, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chairman Shroff on Shanghai-Hong Kong cricket cooperation. Both parties will jointly promote the flourishing development of cricket in both regions.
