Free trade zone promotes investment opportunities to Swiss companies

On May 9, the first Europe-based promotion event for the free trade zone in 2023 was successfully held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This event was the second overseas investment attraction campaign launched by Waigaoqiao Group following the Tokyo briefing.

More than 90 people from over 60 Swiss companies participated in the event, including internationally renowned companies such as precision machine tool manufacturer George Fisher, biopharmaceutical company OM Pharma, cosmetics manufacturer Clinique La Prairie, and watchmaker GRAHAM Watches.

In recent years, significant achievements have been made in the economic and trade exchanges and investment cooperation between the free trade zone and Switzerland.

Over 100 Swiss companies from different sectors such as pharmaceuticals, watches, and consumer goods have invested in and settled in the free trade zone, including famous companies like Roche Diagnostics, Richemont Group, and Nestle.

In 2022, the total revenue of these Swiss companies reached 101 billion yuan (US$14.43 billion). In addition, there are 715 companies within the free trade zone engaged in import and export businesses with Switzerland, with a total import and export value of 26 billion yuan per year.
