China Simulation Sciences Co Ltd completed the production of the first flight simulator of the Boeing 737 Max at the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area recently, marking a landmark in developing China’s self-made flight simulator.
Flight simulator is a device that artificially re-creates aircraft flight and the environment in which it flies. It is used for pilot training, design, or other purposes.
The research & development and production of the simulator has been monopolized by European and American companies, and the price is high, putting Chinese airlines in a passive position on international procurement.
China Simulation Sciences Co Ltd, founded in 2019, is a subsidiary of Juneyao Group that owns Juneyao Airlines. In 2020, the firm’s self-developed one-flight simulator obtained operation certificate from COMAC, a Chinese state-owned aerospace manufacturer.
The support of Shanghai Customs at Pudong International Airport was indispensable to these achievements. The Customs set up a special team to provide customs clearance for related equipment all day long.
Besides, Juneyao Airlines is carrying out training programs such as pilot simulator training, aviation maintenance and cabin crew safety service training at the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area, to serve airlines and meet the needs of aviation enterprises, as the Pudong New Area strives to turn itself into an aviation service highland in China.
