Shanghai customs clearance: Frozen pork imported directly to Wuhan

Recently, five batches of frozen pork, weighing more than 2,000 tons, were directly imported to Wuhan via Shanghai Yangshan and Waigaoqiao Port Customs.

Shanghai Customs worked out an emergency plan to ensure quick customs clearance amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. The first was “zero delay” in the customs clearance process. A communication mechanism with importing companies was established to achieve real-time information of goods and customs requirements.

Secondly, the customs ensured “zero waiting” in the inspection process and opened a special inspection zone.

Thirdly, the customs also ensured “zero delay” in the certificate issuance process. Certificates of qualified goods are issued on the same day to ensure smooth delivery to markets in Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic.

Besides, Shanghai Customs actively coordinated with Shanghai Port Group and logistics enterprises to realize seamless ocean-rail through service and point-to-point cold-chain transportation.

The Customs department will continue to cooperate with relevant importing enterprises to facilitate customs clearance of livelihood materials to Wuhan.
