A group of officials led by Pudong New Area director Sun Jiwei visited two companies in Jinqiao area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone recently.
At Carestream Health Inc. (Shanghai), they learned that the company has operated there since May 2007. Carestream is a worldwide provider of medical/dental imaging systems and materials. It has two factories in China, one in Shanghai and the other in Xiamen.
The officials also visited Anchor Center for Certification (Shanghai), which is the first foreign certification organization to open a branch in Shanghai FTZ. The center provides R&D, testing, certification, consulting and training services to Chinese food companies. Its certificates are accepted as food safety guarantee for imported products.
