The “Sunland Cup” city dragon boat race, part of the 2026 Shanghai Amateur Sports League, took place on June 6 at Sunland Lake.
The event brought together 28 teams, including representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises, and local community residents, with nearly 300 competitors racing side by side.
Participating teams included well-known enterprises such as CSSC Power, Fleetguard, and Huafan Automobile, as well as teams from neighboring subdistricts and towns, alongside community and local business teams from Gaohang Town.
The race featured an upgraded model combining “dragon boat racing, corporate competition and technology empowerment.” The opening ceremony integrated traditional dragon and lion dances with a drone show, creating a dynamic collision between folk customs and modern technology.
Held concurrently was the “2026 Pudong Carnival · Neighborhood Life Festival,” which included a car upgrade zone showcasing more than 10 mainstream brands covering new energy vehicles, commercial vehicles and SUVs. Several major home appliance brands also gathered. An old-brand ICH market featured a number of time-honored Shanghai brands and intangible cultural heritage crafts, including Gaoqiao pancake, Pear syrup candy, and Wang Yi Zhai.
