A batch of high value agri livestock products from Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, recently departed from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on an international cargo flight and was received by a customer in the United States.
The products were manufactured by Taiyuan Wellroad Technology Development Co Ltd, an enterprise in the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, and exported to the US for the first time through Taiyuan Well Haina Trade Co Ltd.
With the service support of Waigaoqiao Group’s Shanxi subsidiary, the company completed its first export order to the US, opening the door to its overseas expansion. The case also demonstrates a “Shanghai solution” for free trade zone services, leveraging Waigaoqiao’s advantages in the Pudong leading area.
The company had previously focused on the domestic agri livestock market and had no prior experience in foreign trade. To help the company go global, Waigaoqiao Shanxi formed a dedicated guidance team to provide in depth “foreign trade incubation,” replicating a proven export service system and accompanying the client through the entire process from qualification setup to cargo departure.
From Taiyuan to Chicago, the journey crossed not just the Pacific Ocean, but also the transition from a “domestic trade mindset” to “international trade rules.” Throughout the process, Waigaoqiao Shanxi supported every step, including document preparation, airline coordination, and cross regional transport logistics.
When news came that the first shipment had arrived at the port of Chicago, the client said: “We used to think exporting was out of reach. Thanks to Waigaoqiao’s team, we not only took the first step, but did so successfully.”
Following the success of the first order, the company shipped a second batch of 400 kilograms of the same product to Chicago on April 14.
