The China Free Trade Zone and Export Processing Zone Association, Shanghai Customs University, and Waigaoqiao Group signed a trilateral strategic cooperation agreement on April 18. Simultaneously, the Shanghai Customs University–Waigaoqiao Group Joint Research Center for Free Trade Zone Innovation and Development was established.
The three parties will focus on institutional innovation, policy implementation, industrial upgrading, and talent development within special customs supervision areas, aiming to build a professional think tank and practice platform to promote high-quality development of both pilot free trade zones and special customs supervision areas.
The newly established joint research center will leverage Waigaoqiao’s abundant market resources and real-world corporate case studies, combined with Shanghai Customs University’s strong academic research capabilities and professional talent pool. The center will facilitate the deep integration of cutting-edge theories with trade practices, explore new pathways for policy innovation and functional breakthroughs, and provide solid support for the functional upgrading and reform breakthroughs of the free trade zone.
