'Impression of Peony' spring exhibition blooms at Pudong Peony Park

The "Impression of Peony" spring flower exhibition has opened at the Pudong Peony Park, showcasing the elegance of peonies and Chinese floral artistry within a historic setting.

Centered around peonies and Chinese herbaceous peonies, the exhibition features a variety of complementary blooms such as crabapple blossoms, calla lilies, and dragon willow, all arranged following traditional Chinese floral techniques.

Floral designers skillfully combine these elements to highlight the peony's graceful presence while creating layered, visually rich compositions. Each arrangement embodies the auspicious wish of welcoming spring and blessings.

The exhibition takes place in Jingyun Hall, a historic hall originally built during the mid-Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (around the mid-18th century) in Dongshan, Suzhou, before being relocated to its current site in Pudong.

As the oldest structure within the park, its elegant upturned eaves and intricate woodwork provide a stunning backdrop to the floral displays. Sunlight filtering through the windows and the subtle fragrance of blossoms create an immersive experience where visitors can appreciate the harmonious blend of classical architecture and the refined artistry of traditional Chinese flower arranging.
