Shanghai's horse culture week to showcase global equestrian arts and culture

The inaugural Shanghai International Horse Culture Week, co-hosted by Pudong Media Group under the Waigaoqiao Group and Jiushi Group, will meet with the public from September 30 to October 7.

The first Shanghai International Horse Culture Week will grandly open at the Shanghai Jiushi International Equestrian Center located in the southern area of the Shanghai Expo Culture Park. This event marks another significant occasion for the center following its global debut in May and the successful hosting of the world-class equestrian competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour.

During the period, the "Shanghai Charm of Horses" equestrian performance will be presented for the first time in the city. It will be performed jointly by international equestrian performance teams and China's top equestrian masters, showcasing a perfect integration of equestrian arts and horse culture.

From October 4 to 5, the Aloga Auction, Europe's second-largest horse auction,  in collaboration with Shanghai Free Trade Zone Auction Co Ltd, will bring a European show jumping horse auction to Shanghai. This marks the first time a world-class horse auction has entered China and the first time a European horse auction is held on the Chinese mainland. Chinese equestrian enthusiasts will have the opportunity to appreciate and participate in a top European horse auction without leaving the country.

From October 1 to 3, Marcus Ehning, a legendary figure in the world of equestrian sports, along with four other world-class riders, will join Chinese young equestrian elites in an international equestrian charity competition.

On October 6 and 7, a beach polo match will be held at an equestrian venue in the downtown city, marking the first such event in the Chinese mainland. This urban beach polo invitational will feature teams from four city polo clubs from Shanghai, Tianjin, Singapore and Hangzhou.
