Thirty imported Aston Martin cars, valued at 60 million yuan ((US$9.23 million), were transported to the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone on Tuesday for bonded storage and exhibition.
It’s the latest move by Pudong to make full use of the advantages of the bonded zone to make the Pudong New Area an international consumption center.
Nearly 100 Aston Martin cars will be introduced into the Chinese market through the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with a total value of over 200 million yuan, in the next step.
In 2019, the State Council, China’s cabinet, published a new regulation on promoting comprehensive bonded zones, allowing for the storage and exhibition of imported cars.
So far, the Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone has attracted many internationally renowned high-end automobile brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, and Land Rover. The cumulative number of vehicles entering the zone has reached 6,000, with a value of more than 4 billion yuan.
