Pudong to optimize “one axis and three belts” layout

During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, the Pudong New Area will optimize the “one axis and three belts” layout for productivity development.

The “one axis” refers to the Pudong section of the city’s east-west urban development axis, linking Lujiazui Financial City, Zhangjiang Science City, International Tourism Resort, Pudong Aviation Hub, and Lingang New Area, which focus on the urban landscape of Shanghai and the core functions of the global city.

The “three belts” refer to the construction of distinctive regional development belts, including the riverfront cultural and business leisure belt (“colorful riverfront”), the Golden Middle Ring Development Belt and the North-South Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.

The innovation corridor, driven by sci-tech innovation, will promote the collaborative development of Waigaoqiao, Jinqiao, Zhangjiang Science City and the Shanghai Free Trade Zone to build an open innovative corridor with high-end industrial clusters.

A batch of characteristic industrial parks such as Zhangjiang AI Island, the Waigaoqiao International Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, and the Jinqiao 5G Industry Park will be developed to accelerate industrial transformation.
