Waigaoqiao port serves ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative

The Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone’s Waigaoqiao port directly serves China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative. This year, ships with good credit can enjoy the facilitation service of zero clearance time.
Thanks to the “one-stop” inspection and clearance system launched by the Waigaoqiao Frontier Inspection Station, shipping companies can now save two hours than before.
According to the inspection station, Waigaoqiao port made 23,000 inspections of inbound and outbound ships last year despite the COVID-19 epidemic.
This year, more than 95 percent of inbound ships are expected to enjoy the convenience of customs clearance, saving a total of about 13,000 hours, inspection officers said.
