The Waigaoqiao Bonded Area has made a number of achievements in various aspects last year. The area has provided a total of 290 million yuan (US$44.8 million) of rent relief for more than 1,000 small- and medium-sized enterprises, and mobilized enterprises and members to donate more than 10 million yuan in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
Altogether six batches of 67 Waigaoqiao volunteers went to Pudong airport’s centralized quarantine sites and transfer centers to participate in epidemic prevention volunteer services.
Last year, a batch of industrial projects settled in the Waigaoqiao Bonded Area, including Disco Hi-tec China Operation Headquarters, Tesla Senlan Delivery Center, Senlan Garden City, and Freshippo X Membership Store.
In November last year, the Shanghai FTZ Global Operators Program was launched. The bonded area has introduced and developed 118 companies, accounting for a third of the area and 15 percent of the whole city.
In addition, the renovation of the Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Park, which was launched in August 2020, was also completed. The Waigaoqiao Port Comprehensive Security Zone successfully completed field acceptance in January this year.
For the third consecutive year, Waigaoqiao Group participated in the service guarantee work of the China International Import Expo and organized the supply and demand matchmaking meeting of the service trade exhibition area, introducing 18 exhibiting projects.
