The cross-border e-commerce orders in the Waigaoqiao Bonded Area increased 27.75 percent year-on-year to 6.3 million, with a trade volume of 1.96 billion yuan (US$281 million), up 58.15 percent from a year earlier.
The Waigaoqiao Bonded Area has introduced a number of cross-border e-commerce projects. During the June 18 shopping spree, the cross-border orders of JD.com delivered from the bonded area reached 86,000.
Last year, the JD cross-border e-commerce project moved into the Waigaoqiao Bonded Area and this year, JD orders have maintained a daily average of 15,000.
The bonded area has also actively communicated with Taobao.com to establish a distribution and sales platform, offering services to 10 million online Taobao stores.
